Founding Member


Andrew Collett AM

Andrew Collett AM was admitted as a legal practitioner in South Australia in 1977 and as a visiting counsel in the Northern Territory in 1980 and has practised as a barrister since 1986, first at Johnston Withers and from 1999 at Murray Chambers. At Johnston Withers from 1979 to 1999 he developed significant expertise and a large practice in personal injury, industrial, Aboriginal, human rights and administrative law. He has also practised as a barrister in Federal Court matters in Western Australia and New South Wales.

Andrew’s commitment to Aboriginal legal rights commenced in 1973 and involved him working as the Executive Secretary of the Aboriginal Legal Rights Movement (ALRM) from 1974 to 1976 and being the first ALRM solicitor at Port Augusta from 1977 to 1999.

Andrew is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Flinders University where he conducts a course in Aboriginal Cultural Heritage and the Law.

For his services to Aboriginal legal rights, Andrew was awarded membership of the Order of Australia in 2014.

Simon Blewett

Simon Blewett

Simon Blewett was admitted as a legal practitioner in South Australia in December 1990. He has worked for workers and unions, either in private practice or directly for unions, for almost his entire legal career.

Simon also spent a number of years as Chief of Staff to the Hon. Jay Weatherill MP, first in his capacity as Minister and then as Premier of South Australia.

Simon came to the bar in July 2017, and practises mainly in the areas of employment, industrial, workers compensation, Aboriginal and administrative law.

Anne Sibree

Anne Sibree was admitted to the Supreme Court of South Australia in 2008, and joined the independent bar at Selby Street Chambers in January 2019.

Over the last 15 years, Anne has developed a broad practice in both criminal and civil litigation.  She practices in native title, criminal and disciplinary law, personal injury, human rights and employment law, workers compensation, coronial enquiries and administrative law. She appears regularly as an advocate before the Supreme, District, Federal and Coroner’s Courts, the Court of Appeal and the South Australian Employment Tribunal.

Prior to joining the bar, Anne worked as a Senior Associate at Johnston Withers Barristers and Solicitors (2008-2013) and then as Senior Solicitor and in house Counsel for the Aboriginal Legal Rights Movement (‘ALRM’).

Anne has been actively involved on a number of law reform and advocacy committees, and tutored and lectured in Advanced Criminal Law and Evidence subjects at the University of South Australia.

Eloise Theodore

Eloise Theodore was admitted to the Supreme Court of South Australia in 2014.  She commenced practice at Selby Street Chambers in July 2021.

Before joining Selby Street Chambers in July 2021, Eloisehad a combined solicitor/counsel practice.  

Eloise has specialist knowledge and expertise in matters arising under the Return to Work Act 2014 and appears frequently in trials and appeals before the South Australian Employment Tribunal.  She accepts briefs in respect of all other personal injury claims (including motor vehicle accident and public liability matters), discrimination, employment and industrial matters.

Dan O’Gorman SC

Dan O’Gorman SC was admitted as a barrister in New South Wales in 1985 and in Queensland in 1986 – having worked as a legal adviser to various Federal Ministers and Shadow Ministers between 1977 and 1985.

Dan practises primarily in the areas of native, title, cultural heritage, administrative, Human Rights, discrimination, equal opportunity, employment and industrial law.

Dan was appointed Senior Counsel in 2006 and In 2017 was rated as “Leading” barrister in native title and cultural heritage in Doyle’s Guide.

Ron Levy

Ron Levy was admitted as a legal practitioner in New South Wales in 1986, in Victoria in 1987, and the Northern Territory in 1994. He has practised as a barrister since 2015.

From 1994 to 2014 Ron was employed as a legal officer with the Northern Land Council, a Commonwealth statutory authority in Darwin, including as that entity’s principal legal officer from 2000 to 2014.

From 1987 and 1994 Ron was employed as a solicitor in legal aid entities in Victoria and New South Wales, and from 1986 to 1987 as a legal officer in the Commonwealth sector. Ron completed an Arts/Law degree at the Australian National University in 1985.

Ron practises primarily in the areas of property (including land rights and native title), administrative law, employment and criminal law.
